We believe that even the smartest people on earth have been deceived by the media and by the medical establishment when it comes to losing weight.

I know that when I originally started my own weight loss journey ten years ago from an obese 265-pound man to a very fit 210-pound fitness guy, I would have missed a lot of these questions.

  2. Dietary fat makes you fat. You must cut your fat intake down in order to lose weight.

  3. Your hormone levels are important when it comes to weight loss, especially if you are over 35.

  4. One good technique for losing weight while still eating your favorite foods is the "once-per-week junk food day". This technique, advocated by books like "Body For Life" and many others, can help you stay motivated without causing your body any harm.

  5. The older you get the harder it is to lose weight and firm up your body.

  6. Your body needs a lot of healthy carbohydrates, such as brown rice, yams, and oatmeal, in order to maintain health and energy.

  7. Men and women lose weight differently and store fat in different places; therefore men and women should diet and exercise differently, too.

  8. It is possible to lose two or more pounds of fat (weight) per week and still be healthy.

  9. There is no such thing as a universally "healthy diet".

  10. Your mind is as important to your weight loss goals as the food you consume and the exercise you do.
